This Church was part of one of the oldest Parishes in London headed by St Ethelburga. Right in front of the Tower of London, this the only Saxon Church --from 675 C.E.--still standing. The current parish was founded by Richard I, also known as Richard the Lionheart. Although severely damaged in WWII we can still find some its original Saxon arches and Richard the Lionheart stark crusading altar. William Penn was baptized here and John Quincy Adams got married here.
